I think this is what those hippie treehuggers call "a statement". Take something dynamic and organic, process it into something generic and soulless, and try to resurrect it through art.
Thanks to these guys for the diagramming, which I altered but minorly. I feel that somehow, the ritualistic, methodical nature of origami heightens the true shame of the death of the artisan.

HAHAHAHA oh damn... that's great!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Resurrection and Reincarnation?!
ReplyDeleteReally fun. The only thing that could make it funnier is if the wrapper said "pulled pork sandwich."
ReplyDeleteit does look pretty androgynous (if you can call a cow/pig similarity such a thing). I was going for a cow. But when I was in Italy, McDonalds there was promoting the "McPink", which was a porkburger. So whatever grills your patty, eh?
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a pig too. Now that you mention it, I can see it either way. Fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I like the mocking statement, and I think you should turn it into a series. You could also include a series of origami art made from one dollar bills, and charge $500 each for them. It's what you do when you're a "serious" artist, and you have something to say, man.
ReplyDeleteIf that's what a cheese burger looks like, I wonder what a McRib would morph into.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the wrapper, btw.
McPork! Funny. Cow/pig! I see it now that I give it a longer study. Either way. It's very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThere's a book out, Origami Design Secrets: Mathematical Methods for an Ancient Art...you might enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteAnd it would be more cow-ish with more rounded ears...if this masterpiece is still around. ;)
